It’s not about me, it’s about you. But, you’re probably curious about me, so I’ll tell you a bit about my journey.

Where I’ve Been. . .Biomedical Engineer

I have a degree in Biomedical Engineering, with a Master’s level specialization in Human Factors and worked for about 15 years in the Silicon Valley Medical Device Start-up Industry.

    Balancing Personal / Professional Life

I imagine many of you can relate to loving your career AND wanting more space for the rest of life.  For me, the values-based intentional life is one that would allow more time for a personal life than my salaried engineering work could provide. I am forever grateful to have built a new career that affords more flexibility to balance work, family, professional development, and personal growth.  I still continue to consult within the Medical Device Industry as my schedule allows.

    Holistic Counseling Psychology

I hold a masters in Holistic Counseling Psychology, specializing in transpersonal and somatic psychotherapies. This means that alongside studying attachment theory, basic human development, systems theory, and marriage and family therapy, I also studied mind-body psychology, Jungian therapy, dreamwork, dance movement therapy, integral psychology, and mindfulness based approaches to human wellness. Fun stuff!

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy / Contextual Behavioral Science, in Depth Training

I have been training since 2011 in various forms of cognitive behavioral therapy, including: TEAM-CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Contextual Behavior Science, and Process Based Approaches to Evidence Based change at the level of the individual.

    Yoga and Meditation

I have been practicing yoga around 20 years, with a dedicated mindfulness practice of 15+ years. I am a trained yoga instructor and mindfulness instructor.

    Psychotherapy and Coaching

I offer psychotherapy to individuals, couples, children, and families in California. As a therapist, I also do a lot of coaching in sessions, in the areas of communication, mindfulness, goal setting, and habit development, depending on a specific client’s goals. I also offer coaching-specific offerings and trainings from my coaching business ([email protected]) as well as training and consultation for therapists.

What I’m up to Now. . Continuing Education / Lifelong Learning

I am a perpetual student with a love of learning, so I am just about continuously enrolled in a professionally-applicable training course. Rather than trying to list them all, I’ll name a few highlights and my more recent learning edges:

    • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), ACT Bootcamp, online trainings (Russ Harris, Kelly Wilson, Steven Hayes, Diana Hill) and ongoing peer training and consultation
    • ADD / ADHD Executive Functioning Strategies, including Certification:  ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP)
