Where do you want to go, How do you want to get there?

We will select tools together based on a deeper understanding of the specific problems you’re dealing with, your specific goals, and the approaches to therapy that resonate with you. I’ve cross trained extensively in a wide range of therapy, coaching, and wellness modalities and can support you in flexibly learning and applying a variety of tools.

I generally work in a “transdiagnostic” way.  The tools I use have been shown to work across a variety of diagnoses and target the ways that people change and learn.

Our work is about much more than treating dis-ease. It is about living fully, with vitality, creating a life that you feel inspired to be living each day.

We start with you, your goals, and an honest assessment of where you’ve been stuck.

Coaching vs Therapy

Coaching VS Therapy

You will find many definitions of coaching and comparisons of coaching vs. therapy.Because I follow the client and their goals, the work naturally includes a large element of coaching.  You have two options for doing coaching work with me-

1- Work with me as a psychotherapist, and weave in coaching when appropriate. This option allows us to work on many areas of your life, and to move freely to address the types of obstacles that may get in your way as you pursue your goals, including past traumas.

2- Work with me as a coach only.  I am currently licensed as a psychotherapist in California only. If you are living outside of California, you can contact me to see if coaching would be a good fit for you. This option tends to be most appropriate when you have a more specific and narrow focus, like the following:

– Communication Training

– Decision Making (usually a specific decision)

– Goal Setting

– Productivity

– Habit Development

– Attention and Awareness Training

– Parent Coaching

– Coaching (Website Coming Soon)

For Who?

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a great way to get customized support.  We will select tools together based on a deeper understanding of the specific problems you’re dealing with, your specific goals, and the approaches to therapy that resonate with you.  Individual therapy doesn’t mean you have to focus only on yourself, though.  You might be working to improve important relationships in your life, with partners, children, friends, colleagues, etc.  “Individual” just means you’re the one doing the hard work of change.

Family Therapy and Parent Coaching

Our closest relationships can be the most challenging, yet the most meaningful to improve.  It’s natural to have challenges as your family moves through various transitions - getting married, having children, having children, children growing to become teens and young adults.  With parent coaching, I support you in being the agent of change for your family and in being the kind of parent you want to be.  With family therapy, I am supporting more than one member of the family at the same time, so we are working more as a team to create change.
