Parenting and Family Therapy
“If only my child had come with an instruction manual!” That’s a thought that most parents have had at some point in their lives.
Nothing really prepares you to become a parent. Some of us were lucky enough to have parents that set a good example. But others grew up in homes where the dynamic between child and parent was anything but functional or consistently loving.
But the truth is, even if you did have loving parents that did right by you 24/7, you can never be fully prepared to handle sticky situations with your own children. You never really know what behavioral challenges your child may wind up struggling with, and how those will affect your other children and the family as a whole.
This is where parenting coaching comes in.
I’ll teach you how to read the code behind your child’s behavior to select parenting interventions likely to create change. I’ll invite you into a view of your child as “good inside,” so that you can lead with love, presence, and acceptance while supporting them in learning new skills for challenging situations.
Who is Parenting Coaching For?
Parenting coaching is for any parent that wishes to resolve behavioral struggles with their children. These struggles can include typical daily struggles such as:
- Morning routines
- Homework struggles
- Sibling bickering
But coaching can also help with more demanding behaviors that push the parent’s skillset. These include:
- Dealing with a strong-willed child
- Getting a picky eater to eat
- Engaging with an angry or defiant teenager
- Guiding a child with Attention Deficit issues
Let’s Get You the Results You Want

Then please get in touch with me. I invite you to ask as many questions as you need to see if you think we will be a good fit for one another.
Is Family Therapy Right for You?
As a family therapist, I would work with more than one individual in the family, as a therapist. This is often an appropriate choice when a child is interested in therapy and it would make sense for me to be supporting them in making change and learning skills while also working with the parent to team them how to adjust the family system to be of support to the child. Depending on the age of the child and their goals, it might make sense for me to only see them, as their individual therapist. If you’re not sure which one works for you, that’s fine. Schedule a free consultation, and we can talk about you, your family, and your goals, to come up with a plan.
